Bev Buckhalt has taught yoga many years. She teaches yoga in the Iyengar tradition and is a certified teacher and has participated in the teacher training program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San Francisco. She has studied in India with the Iyengars many times. Bev apprenticed for several years with Manouso Manos and she continues her ongoing yoga education with him. She has been active in many yoga-related committees and organizations. She is past President of the California Yoga Teachers Association and Chairman of the Board of the YOGA JOURNAL. She is a member of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Northern California and the B.K.S. Iyengar National Association of the U.S.
Bev has taught in the California adult education program since 1980 and holds a State of California teaching credential. She was the first yoga teacher to teach yoga in the adult education curriculum in the State of California.
Bev teaches public classes and private lessons for all levels. She teaches in Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill and Concord, and is one of the few teachers who was certified by B.K.S. Iyengar. She was chosen for the 2018 Best of Concord Awards in the category of yoga instruction and therapy.
